Yes, Galen College of Nursing is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award Baccalaureate degrees in nursing. We are approved by the Florida Board of Nursing and are a member agency of both the National League for Nursing and the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing.
The decision to accept credits from another educational institution is made by the receiving institution and is considered on an individual course basis. Prospective students who plan to continue their educational studies are encouraged to speak with Galen staff members about the plans and to request assistance in answering questions regarding transfer of credit.

What are Clinical Requirements?
Galen’s requirements for clinical experiences are similar to those you will encounter in your professional nursing career. All requirements are designed to ensure continuity of patient care, as well as to protect students, healthcare providers, and patients from the manifestation and spread of diseases.

Can I work while attending Galen?
Many Galen students work while attending nursing school. However, if you are attending Galen on a full-time basis, it is best to work a very minimal amount of hours. Our nursing degree programs require a considerable amount of time outside the classroom for reading, studying, assignments, etc. You must be very disciplined with your school/study/work time to be successful at Galen if you plan to work while attending.
